HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Happy Halloween! Prepare for some crazy cuteness! I was able to leave work a little early today so that I would miss the inevitable Halloween+Friday traffic, which allowed for some time to throw together a pot of chili before I picked the little pumpkins up from school. Henry was SO ready to put his costume on as soon as we got in the car today. He told me that Charlie was going to be a "little lion" and "Henwy is going to be a BIG pirate".

Here is our big pirate...thank you 50% off Pottery Barn! This is a size 4-6 BOYS so Henry will be sporting this pirate get-up for years to come!

Daddy's home!
And the winner of the pumpkin carving contest is.....DADDY!
Henry loves our neighbor's cat, Sampson. Here is Henry and Sampson sharing a sweet hello.
Have I mentioned that Charlie is pulling himself up into a full standing position now?! I just know that he will be taking his first steps SOON! Shortly after this picture was taken, Charlie fell forward and hit is right eye on the drawer pull. We needed a cut-man for this incident. But Charlie only cried for one minute....tough guy!
Post cut...Roar!
But mom, I just shaved this morning, whats with this crazy fuzz on my face??
"I love you brother. Whatcha doin'?" Henry: Don't look at me Tarley!
Now what are you doing brother? Can I have some of what you are having?
Trick-or-Treating in Alameda. This is the first year that we have trick-or-treated in our neighborhood (we usually cheat and go to the richer neighborhood aka: my parents), but it was AWESOME! There were SO many families and kids walking around. Nate said it was like the scene from E.T., I say "Mr. Mom", either way, we were so impressed!
Don't show PETA this photo...a lion strapped down to a stroller...against his will.
Charlie riding in the front seat - Henry in the trunk:
The "hook" proved to be too much baggage for Henry. I mean, how was he supposed to carry his glo stick, hook AND candy bag (which required two hands anyways!)??
Henry's new line is "Yeave me ayone!" (leave me alone)

It was a very fun Halloween. As we sit here, it is 10:00pm and Henry is still banging around in his room - which couldn't possibly be related to the two candy bars he ate at 8:00 tonight, right? And our neighbors have a live band in their house (which might as well be in our house it is so loud) to compliment their homemade horror house in their driveway. It is going to be a long night in our uninsulated attic bedroom.

THE END - love, B

October 26, 2008

I am not sure why all of my pictures posted in a random order....I cannot seem to reorder them, so today's story will be slightly jumbled. We've had a busy week! Monday,  Henry, Charlie and I spent the day with Merri, Wyatt and Bodhi. I didn't have the camera out, but they spent most of the time napping anyways. Friday, Nate and I celebrated our 10th anniversary and Henry and Charlie spent the night with Aunt Sissy, Uncle Ryan, Ax and Kysa. Sounds like they had a great time. Charlie actually slept better with Aunt Sissy than at home..Hmmm. = )
Here are some pics from this past week:

Henry is really into riding his bike that he got last Christmas. He cruises!!! Note the intense look on his face:
Charlie on the tricycle...of course, he wants to be just like big bro!

Here is where my pics got wonky. Charlie is so funny. He always puts things in his mouth and lets them just hang out. I captured several moments where this happened. This was EARLY one morning as we were getting ready for work. He's like a puppy! Its so funny when he grins and lets the toy hang!

And back to Henry - concentrating on his tricycling!

How stinkin' cute are you??? Note Charlie's CRAZY hair! The natural mohawk.
Here is a photo before the kids went to bed tonight
Henry loves playing games on Nathan's IPHONE (he is so good at navigating the games!) Charlie HAS to be part of Henry's activities!
Here is Henry melting because Charlie is in his business. This is what 99% of Henry's day looks like. Tarley NO!
And back to puppy Charlie. Silly boy!
And another toy in the mouth. Obviously, we have to watch him like a hawk and make sure that the floor is clear of any small toy debris. Its more work than you think!
We are all ready for Halloween. Henry has quite possibly the cutest costume EVER. We are going to carve pumpkins on Wednesday so I'll have some more pictures then. We are so excited for Halloween - Henry has been working on his "Trick-or-Treat" and appears to be so ready for the candy-overhaul. Love, B

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Saturday, we drove out to Liepold Farms in Boring, OR and had a great afternoon at the pumpkin patch.

Charlie, frolicking among the gords:
Riding a John Deer tricycle...he still hasn't figured out the pedals, but has fun nonetheless.
A picture that sums Henry up as a whole...the happiest kid alive!
This is the pumpkin that Henry picked up, but shortly after the photo told me it is "too heavy".
Just a boy with his wheelbarrow...

Sweet baby Charlie:

We bought something like 100lbs of apples for $5.00 from this apple cart. Today, I made homemade applesauce and we still have 50lbs left over. We are on the great hunt for an apple donut recipe!
Mmmmm....diiiirrrrt.
Here is Henry riding "Moon". He had NO fear of the mini-horses and was so excited to ride one. He was a natural and shortly after this photo jumped a fence and roped a calf. Just kidding.
Both of the boys now have super runny noses and Charlie is coughing, coughing, coughing. I hope they both clear up and feel better real soon! Love, B

Not AGAIN!

How do you say..."Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".
Yea. That's what Henry was doing during his naptime. Rearranging his room,
and rubbing vasoline in his hair. Ok, and for the record, it was put away, unlike last time. Smarty-pants used his rocking chair to reach it this time. Enjoy.

That is cornstarch. It didn't work.

While I was tending to my little grease-ball, Charlie threw up behind me. Yes, that is lunch puddled up on the floor, and on his socks, shirt and my comb.
CALGON!

Brotherly Love and Pearly whites!

Hello from Bartonland! I have a few random photos to share today. Krissy - I TRIED to get a copy of the Oregonian yesterday so I could scan and blog about your greasy photo - but no such luck. They must have been super popular because our newspaper bin was empty. You are so lucky!

Charlie loves his brother more and more everyday. Example A below. Henry is in a very bad habit of moving every Henry toy from Hurricane Charlie's path. It is so funny to watch because Henry NEVER cleans up after himself, except when it means his brother might possibly touch something of his!
Of course, Henry loves his Tarley every once in a while too. Example B below. SO SWEET!
This is art by Henry. He played by himself in his room and put this together the other day. I was dying laughing at what possibly was going thru his head. Very creative Henry! I particularly like the hand in the head and the lips in the ear!
Henry does NOT like me taking his picture anymore - so he does silly stuff like this now. Next thing you know, he will be demanding that Daddy drop him off 2 blocks away from daycare. So embarrassing daddy!
Who's the big boy now??? Mr. Charlie can hold his own bottle rather efficiently now a days. Sure does make our mornings a little easier, but I sure miss snuggling during bottles. Mom - you better get your butt back here fast! Charlie needs some more snuggle-training!
I've been trying unsuccessfully for DAYS to get a picture of Charlie's new teeth. Today, I figured out that if I let him cry, I could see his teeth! Mean, I know...but smart huh?! To make him cry, I showed him food at lunch time. He was starving and NOT happy that I wasn't shoveling food in his mouth.
and THERE THEY ARE!!! Two little pearly whites!
And...after lunch. Ahhh....happy boy!!!
Right after lunch, Henry announced it was "nap time" and went to the basement to collect his naptime stuff - blankets and binkies (hush uncle T!)

Of course, he failed to tell me that "naptime" meant tearing his room completely apart. I heard loud thumping in there a few minutes ago, and was disturbed with what I found...every shoe, every book and every loose diaper was strewn about the room and Henry was sitting on his rocking chair, which was upside down. Apparently there will be no nap today. Love B.
